Austroplebeia Australis (AA) propolis is a lot lighter, softer and more maluable than other stingless bee species' propolis. We have found that Austroplebeia Australis bees prefer the softer propolis compared to the much harder Tetragonula carbonaria or hockingsi propolis.
AA propolis is more scarce, as the AA use a lot less of it to build their hives. Their honey and pollen pots are thinner and they build their hive structure in a more compact pattern which uses less resources needed to make the extra propolis, compared to other species of stingless bee.

This AA propolis is 90% AA and 10% honeybee wax. A mixture that has proven to be a favourite of our AA bees.
