The curved tip of these syringes allows for easy access to individual honey pots, causing significantly less damage to the honey pot and less honey spillage/loss.
Harvesting the honey from each individual honey pot does take more time, than the antiquated smash and pour technique, but allows the bees to rebuild and fill the honey pots very quickly. Using the syringe also means no bees dying during the process.
